When home buyers come to the Carson Valley in search for that luxury home in the mountains, they are often stopped in their thoughts for a few moments as it occurs to them that The Carson Valley is unique in that buying a luxury home here gives you a lifestyle option not found in many other places.
This lifestyle option is as divided as are the residents and community in which they are considering moving. The Carson Valley is blessed with mountains on all sides, yet the dramatic difference of where your home lies in the valley really speaks to a life style choice you are making. The choice has to do with the daily views, the natural life around us and our vision of sunset or sunrise that brings us peace.
Buying or owning a luxury home in the Carson Valley does not limit you to one or two locations, instead it opens the door for you to consider the lifestyle and surroundings that you get to view each day from your home. Are you a sunrise or sunset fan? Do you want deer in your yard or to hear the coyotes talking at night? Do you prefer to have cooler evenings and brilliant morning skies or do you prefer quite mornings and brilliant sunset skies? The Carson Valley is naturally split in half by HWY 395, but the Valley residents will tell you it is also split on preference for your mountain or sky view.
To the East our local residents love the view of the Sierra Mountain Range to the West. They get to see an array of the sunset that is unmatched to many. They live on the drier side of the Valley with sagebrush, rabbits, quail, and coyotes frequently spotted near their homes. They often have great access to outdoor play in the Pinenut Mountains to the East and love their back yard BBQ’s as the sun sets over the Sierra Mountains. They too get to see the sunrise, but maybe not with the same perspective as residents on the West.
On the West side of the Carson Valley our residents love that they feel like they live in The Sierra Mountain Range and have a spectacular view of the Carson Valley, the Pinenut Mountain Range and brilliant sunrises. They live closer to the tree line in the mountains, enjoy an occasional fog near the Carson River are frequented by deer, raccoon’s, large birds of prey, and an occasional bear looking for food. They love quick and easy access to trails that lead them deeper into the Sierra or a quicker drive up to Lake Tahoe. West Side residents get a little less evening sun so it cools quicker in the evening, making summer BBQ’s a cherished event. Sunsets are often directly above them so maybe they don’t get the same broad panoramic view of the Sierra sunset as our friends on the East, but the sunrise over the Carson Valley is brilliant and a treasured gift.
